Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Executes civil process, writs and warrants
  • Affords assistance to the District Attorney’s Office and Probation departments with making arrests
  • Patrols the area and maintains awareness of the Precinct for crime prevention
  • Enforces at civil stand bys
  • Performs refuse and traffic enforcement
  • Affords assistance to all law enforcement agencies
  • Collects executions on judgments
  • Provides security for the courthouse and acts as court bailiff
  • Prepares all court documents for return after execution
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

    Minimum Requirements

    • Associate’s degree or 60 hours college and three (3) years law enforcement experience
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and one (1) year law enforcement experience
    • Five (5) years law enforcement experience
    • Any equivalent combination based on 30 college hours equaling one (1) year of experience
    • Valid and current Texas Driver’s License
    • Valid and current TCLEOSE Certification
    • Demonstration of firearm proficiency
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

    Physical Demands And Work Environment & Other Requirements

    • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, run, kneel and twist the upper body
    • Use of a vehicle is required to perform the essential job functions
    • Incumbent must be able to respond to emergency situations which may include the use of physical force

    • Do you have any of the following TCLEOSE certifications (check all that apply)? TCLEOSE Basic Peace Officer, TCLEOSE Intermediate Certification, TCLEOSE Advanced Certification, TCLEOSE Master Certification
    • Do you possess an Associate’s Degree or 60 hours of college credit?
    • Do you have a valid driver's license?
