SCHOOL-BASED THERAPIST (REMOTE) – FULL TIME OR PART TIME

About the role

As the need for youth therapy services continues to increase, we are meeting this demand by providing mental health counseling in schools during school hours. Our school-based program offers individual and group therapy services to students at their schools, reducing interference with extracurricular activities and helping parents manage work schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat clients experiencing mental health and psychological distress within the school setting.
  • Provide evidence-based mental health individual and group therapy sessions during the school year and summer months.
  • Identify culturally appropriate treatment to meet students' experiences and individual needs.
  • Consult with the school’s social worker(s) to ensure effective treatment for students.
  • Work with students to set SMART goals and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Give students resources to gain insight through a strength-based approach to treatment.
  • Identify social, emotional, and cultural barriers that may inhibit a student's psychological well-being.
  • Conduct group therapy sessions for students based on specific needs (e.g., anger management, depression, anxiety, relationship issues).
  • Refer students internally to an appropriate provider or externally to other health professionals.
  • Support students and/or parents in identifying additional resources in their local or online communities, such as social services, job services, and support groups.

Requirements

  • Valid mental health licensure: LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC, LPCC, Clinical Psychology PsyD/PhD (independent or provisional).
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI number).
  • Completed Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) application.
  • Individual professional malpractice liability insurance policy ($1mil/$3mil).

Schedule

Full-time or part-time. When school is in session, sessions align with school hours. During school holidays and breaks, you have flexibility to manage your schedule.
