Job Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and in the moment feedback to Right At School program team members.
  • Audit, coach, and train staff to ensure compliance with all relevant Right At School, licensing, and district-specific processes, policies, and expectations.
  • Support the Area Manager’s established plans and procedures to ensure the safety and security of children during the Right At School program.
  • Develop strong relationships with school administration, parents, and/or PTA organizations to ensure successful delivery of all Right At School programs and ensure customer satisfaction with the program.
  • Career Electives Programs: Coordinate educational electives programs for assigned area as applicable.
  • Review and analyze electronic data such as enrollment information, timekeeping records, and file maintenance; take prescribed actions based on the data found.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Administer light first aid when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working with school-age children in a recreational program or child care center/education setting.
  • Assertive and confident, with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to make independent decisions on issues that do not require oversight.
  • Prioritize critical tasks ahead of routine ones, as well as prioritize schedule demands with an appreciation and recognition of key, critical issues.
  • Multitask and meet deadlines and adapt smoothly to rapidly shifting work priorities and schedules.
  • Travel up to 100% of the workday throughout assigned programs, spending up to 100% of the workday performing program duties in ratio.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 15 pounds for 25% or less of the workday.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for 25% or less of the workday.
  • Stand, sit, walk, or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn, and reason for 100% of the workday.

State Requirements

  • Center Director Certification from Missouri's Dept. of Education and Secondary Education (DESE) office with a capacity of 100+ kids - this is REQUIRED by Missouri licensing regulations.
  • One hundred twenty (120) college semester hours. Twenty-four (24) of the one hundred twenty (120) hours must be in child-related courses. Six (6) of the twenty-four (24) college semester hours may include courses in business or management; or four (4) years of experience and twenty-four (24) college semester hours in child-related courses. Six (6) of the twenty-four (24) college semester hours may include courses in business or management.
  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) or Youth Development Credential (YDC) shall be considered the equivalent of twelve (12) months of experience and six (6) college semester hours in child-related courses toward meeting the educational and experience requirements for a director of any size facility.
  • All experience must have been responsible, supervised, full-time (a minimum of thirty-five (35) hours per week) paid experience in working with children in a childcare setting. Part-time experience, which is less than thirty-five (35) hours per week, may be prorated. C. Each month of full-time experience may be substituted for two (2) college semester hours in unspecified courses, but not for the required child-related courses.
  • All college semester hours must have been received from an accredited college or university.
  • The required courses may include child-related courses in early childhood education, elementary education, child development, child psychology, nutrition, first aid, recreation, nursing, health, marriage and family, social work, sociology, or other related areas as approved by the department.
  • Official verification of the education and experience of the group child care home provider or center director shall be on file with the department prior to beginning employment as the group child care home provider or facility director.
  • Any college transcript used for verification of education must be an official transcript bearing the seal of the college or university.
  • State specific requirements: medical clearance, TB test, background checks, etc.
