About the role

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School‑Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Penn‑Bernville Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is ideal for parents, education majors, future teachers, or retirees who enjoy building relationships, supporting student growth, and being part of a mission‑driven team.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Perform management functions as needed, such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Requirements

Education and Experience – Candidate must possess one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate’s degree with 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Relevant experience includes working with school‑age children in after‑school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social‑emotional and academic growth.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks.
  • Must be medically fit to perform job duties, including a clear TB test.
  • Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lb.

Pay

$16.00 per hour

Schedule

Follows the school calendar. Morning Program: 7:00 AM – 8:35 AM. Afternoon Program: 3:20 PM – 6:30 PM. Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.
