School-Age Childcare Lead – Before & After School
About the role
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Bethel Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. If you love working with children, leading engaging activities, and being part of a positive, supportive team, you’ll help shape a safe and fun environment where kids can grow and thrive.
Position Responsibilities
- Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Candidate Must Possess One Of The Following
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
- Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience
Relevant experience includes: working with school-age children in after-school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social-emotional and academic growth.
Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
- Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
- Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Pay
$16.00 per hour
Schedule
- Morning Program: 7:00 AM - 8:35 AM
- Afternoon Program: 3:20 PM-6:30 PM
