Scheduling Specialist | Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) | Full-Time, Benefits Eligible

Job Summary

We are seeking a Scheduling Specialist to join our Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) team. The ideal candidate will support patient care by reviewing referrals, scheduling patients, and documenting communications.

About the role

This role supports the patient’s experience by ensuring timely and accurate scheduling of appointments. The Scheduling Specialist will also handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, recording messages, and verifying patient information.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and prioritize scheduling based on surgery schedule dates
• Answer incoming phone calls and record messages
• Schedule patients by gathering and verifying all necessary information for the medical record
• Document communication with patients and updates to referrals within the work queue

Requirements

• Completion of a high school education or equivalent
• 6 months+ of clerical experience in a healthcare setting, including filing and retrieval methods
• General medical office/practice experience
• Coding experience and/or an Associates Degree in medical secretarial sciences or related field preferred
