Scheduling Specialist, Per Diem

About the role

This is a Per Diem Centralized Scheduling position. The functional role supports customer relations, physician relations, patient care & hospital business services by performing administrative & scheduling for multiple areas. Responsibilities

• Perform pre-registration
• Handle scheduling
• Electronically verify insurance eligibility
• Accurately identify and collect patient financial responsibility
• Handle complex scheduled events, including high‑dollar testing, associated studies, and those with study‑specific instructions
• Communicate effectively with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service
• Initiate the overall patient experience and begin the billing process for any services provided by the hospital

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access
• National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire
• Proficiency in Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software systems
