About the role

This position greets patients, answers calls, schedules appointments, communicates with internal and external customers, collaborates with physician offices, and processes and distributes communications.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and answer calls promptly, courteously, and helpfully, routing them appropriately.
  • Schedule patient appointments using software, following established procedures and standards.
  • Maintain a pleasant and caring attitude when communicating with all internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and time management skills to accomplish daily tasks efficiently.
  • Communicate information effectively to patients, families, providers, and service representatives.
  • Collaborate with physician offices to monitor resource utilization and deliver quality care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with organizational guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in patient outreach campaigns to schedule follow-up and annual physical/wellness exam appointments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical records and other confidential information.
  • Process and distribute incoming and outgoing communications.
  • Keep updated on current office software and maintain knowledge of office equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of GI procedures and possess practical knowledge and experience in working with practice management software systems.

  • Basic understanding of GI procedures.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in working with practice management software systems.
  • Proficient with computer programs: Email, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, Call Center Software.
  • Familiarity with various software packages and navigation techniques.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equivalent.
  • Field of Study: Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • 1+ position-related experience.
  • Office experience in a medical setting is preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $27.84 per hour.
