Job Summary

About the role

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Float Scheduling Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time position traveling to multiple centers in the Milwaukee market, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts between 6:30am-10:30pm, including up to 4 weekends per year.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling Activities:
    • Answers phones and handles calls professionally and promptly
    • Maintains positive interactions with patients, referring offices, and team members
    • Schedules patient examinations according to company policy
    • Obtains and records appropriate personal, financial, and insurance information accurately
    • Enters patient data into information systems completely and accurately
    • Advises patients of financial responsibilities, appropriate attire, preparation kits, transportation, and/or eating requirements prior to appointment
    • Communicates scheduling changes to technologists to enhance patient satisfaction
    • Maintains an updated and accurate database on current and potential referring physicians
    • Provides backup coverage for front office team members as requested (e.g., rest breaks, meal breaks, vacations, sick leave)
    • Fields 1-800 number calls and routes to appropriate departments or associates (St. Louis Park only)
  • Insurance Activities:
    • Pre-certifies exams with patient's insurance company as required
    • Verifies insurance for same-day add-ons
    • Uses knowledge of insurance carriers and procedures requiring waivers to obtain authorization if needed before appointment
  • Other Tasks and Projects:
    • Performs other tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Proficiency with computer systems and typing
  • Able to handle multi-level phone systems with a high volume of calls
  • One (1) year customer service experience preferred
  • Medical terminology and previous clinical business office experience preferred
  • Bilingual (preferred)
