Scheduling Coordinator (Endoscopy)
About the role
The Scheduling Coordinator serves patients, providers, and staff by facilitating access to services, tests, procedures, and other healthcare needs at the direction of the care provider. This role coordinates the flow and exchange of information related to patients' activity and performs registration, scheduling, and other clerical functions to support scheduling operations.
Responsibilities
- Acquires vital consent from patients for medical records, authorization for evaluations, procedures, treatment programs, therapies, etc., from managed care plans and other payers.
- Communicates with patients, staff, and referring physicians regarding authorization decisions.
- Schedules services such as tests, procedures, follow-up visits, and any other services required as per doctor’s orders.
- Produces efficient and accurate schedules and associated reports.
- Records and updates schedule changes accurately.
- Monitors discharge status of patients, discharges patients, and coordinates discharge communication procedures to referring physicians.
- Answers multiple telephone lines and addresses callers' needs quickly and thoroughly.
- Participates actively in department decision-making, coordinating patient schedules across multiple subject areas.
Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical training or Associate Degree preferred.
- One to three years of experience.

Pay
Compensation is determined by factors such as skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. The organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making offers. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If eligible, a sign-on bonus may be offered based on the approved program at the time of the offer.
