Scheduler-Public Transportation Dept.
About the role
Fort Bend County is seeking a Scheduler-Public Transportation to join our team. This position works closely with the service contractors to ensure timely and efficient public transportation services.
Responsibilities
- Researches and analyzes scheduled trip requests using the scheduling software
- Ensures the scheduling process and on-time performance goals are adequate to allow for timely performance
- Inputs passenger data, changes and cancellations
- Tracks “delivered” and “no show” trips in database
- Maintains, updates, and manages routing activities
- Accesses and analyzes operations reports and makes recommendations
- Analyzes and monitors effectiveness of new implemented routes
- Acts as liaison between department and service contractors
- Works with contractor to ensure smooth delivery of services and improve the routing process
- Interacts with internal ITS staff and assists with managing system hardware, software, and troubleshooting system errors, correcting issues or arranging for repairs
- Researches, develops and prepares reports using system data
- Gathers appropriate data and documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and/or budgets, audits, and reviews by County, State and Federal agencies
- May act as driver, assisting passengers loading and unloading, and must obey all traffic laws and regulations
- Assists with taking reservations as necessary
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years job related experience; prior experience with transportation scheduling/reservations preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication, math and/or accounting
- Management and supervisory skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Fort Bend County service area, roads and neighborhoods
- Knowledge of METRO and surrounding transit agency routes

SALARY: $25.71-$32.14/HOURLY
