Scheduler - Heart & Vascular

About the role

As a Scheduler on the team, you will support staff and clinicians who provide care to patients and community members, helping to advance Sovah Health’s mission of making communities healthier.

Sovah Health is a regional health‑care delivery system with two hospital campuses in Danville and Martinsville, each offering a 24/7 Emergency Room, Outpatient Imaging Center, and over 20 primary and specialty care physician clinics. The Danville location is also a teaching hospital for medical students and physician residents in family and internal medicine.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and testing.
• Ensure all patient demographic and insurance verification is complete and accurate.
• Communicate special instructions, required tests, or other relevant documents to patients or physician office staff prior to appointments.
• Secure physician orders and obtain necessary insurance authorizations or pre‑certifications.
• Review and monitor daily schedule reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior scheduling experience in a health‑care setting is highly preferred.
• Medical terminology, billing, and/or collection experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills required.
• Strong customer service, organization, and time‑management skills required.

Full‑time, weekdays.

Pay

Hourly range: $15.27 – $18.86.
