Scheduler
Responsibilities
- Schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event.
- Coordinates with departments as necessary.
- Ensures accurate, complete, and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations if applicable.
- Notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries.
- Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on-call list to appropriate departments or personnel.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).
- Knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements.
- 1-2 years previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer Services experience required.
- Strong clerical and computer skills.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $16.44 to $23.81. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
