Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in theater or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Two years of theater scenery construction and operations experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Understanding of set and lighting design and drafting of scenery which requires the use of various hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Technical Director for assigned productions.
• Plans, coordinates, designs, and supervises the technical production elements for Theatre USA productions.
• Designs scenery, lighting, and/or sound as needed.
• Supervises and mentors student designers, technicians, and shop workers in accordance with the Department of Drama and Theatre Arts technical theatre curriculum.
• Assists in the design, construction, installation, operation, and strike of production elements.
• Manages production workloads to ensure successful completion within the department’s six-week production schedule.
• Maintains production budgets.
• Maintains inventories and orders materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensures compliance with university and industry safety standards within all theatre and shop spaces.
• Coordinates production activities with faculty, staff, guest artists, and student crews.
• Maintains production documentation.
• Performs other production duties as assigned by the Department Chair or supervisor.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime hours as required.

Position is full-time, temporary, and located on the main campus.
