Job Summary

The Shop Specialist trains Prefab team members, ensuring work complies with Tuff Shed's quality, productivity, and safety specifications. They also provide direction for new hires and oversee their work.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Production Foreman in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Administers forklift certification training and tests
  • Prevents safety issues by training and mentoring Prefab team members
  • Verifies building components are properly prepared
  • Ensures production lines are stocked and organized
  • Ensures jobs are completed within quality and accuracy standards
  • Oversees trainee work, checks quality, assists with product issues, and reports non-routine problems
  • Coordinates new employee assignments and work hours
  • Works with Production Foreman and Project Manager to align workload and hours
  • Assists employees in resolving work-related problems
  • Creates and leads a positive learning culture
  • Provides feedback on employee progress and concerns
  • Aids in packing inspections, stacking products, and addressing deficiencies
  • Fabricates work as needed to cover staffing shortages or excessive workloads

Requirements

  • Certified on all prefab stations
  • Aptitude and desire to train and develop others
  • Safety awareness and ability to work in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge of construction practices and terminology
  • Ability to use standard construction tools safely
  • Read and understand technical documents
  • Strong communication skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in construction or manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license
