About the role

The St. James Hotel is an iconic, boutique hotel offering luxurious amenities and culinary delights. The targeted hiring range for this position is $14.42 - $19.00 per hour, with an expanded salary range providing opportunities for advancement. Responsibilities

• Prepare all foods for daily service in accordance with seasonal menus and health/sanitation guidelines.
• Cook hot and cold food products accurately and efficiently.
• Aid in food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing.
• Maintain proper portioning and cooking of all menu items.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Communicate effectively with the Chef to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Address guest complaints and problems professionally to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
• Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
• Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.
• Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.
• Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.

Pay

The targeted hiring range for this position is $14.42 - $19.00 per hour, with an expanded salary range providing opportunities for advancement. Salary within the range is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training, or a combination of these things and market demand.

Schedule

We are looking for engaging team members who can work 20-40 hours per week during the summer over a combination of days/afternoons/evenings and weekends. You can extend your availability to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during May, September, and October too, and we'll do our best to accommodate your desired work schedule as long as you have availability to work evenings and weekends.
