Scale Operator/ Customer Service

About the role

Knife River is seeking a scale house operator for its new Bains Creek Quarry in Groesbeck, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks including weighing and ticketing trucks, assisting with daily billing, communicating with customers and managing customer requests.

Responsibilities

• Weighing and ticketing trucks in a timely manner
• Aid with daily cash sales and prepare overnight packages to other Knife River locations
• Communicate with dispatch, truck drivers and management regarding plant and traffic issues
• Prepare for next day's work orders and run daily billing reports
• Record and maintain records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information
• Relay sales orders, messages, and information to or from the sales team and other departments
• Assist with cleaning the scale house including restrooms
• Answer phones and operate two-way radio system
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• General education, grammar and arithmetic, high school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
• Ability to use basic office equipment, including computer, scanner, copier and 10-key calculator
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Experience working at a quarry/aggregate plant is preferred
• Knowledge of APEX/JWS program is preferred
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a PLUS
