Responsibilities
- Become the trusted face of Beacon Recycling
- Greet customers with energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm
- Build rapport quickly and create lasting customer relationships
- Learn customers' businesses and help them maximize value from their materials
- Turn first-time customers into repeat customers
- Resolve concerns professionally and confidently
- Create experiences that customers talk about and recommend to others
- Purchase metal and create value
- Identify, grade, weigh, and purchase ferrous and non-ferrous metals
- Explain pricing and grading decisions with confidence and professionalism
- Educate customers on material preparation and quality standards
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Learn market conditions and material values
- Own the customer experience
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional scale environment
- Keep customer traffic moving efficiently
- Work closely with yard, warehouse, and commercial teams
- Identify opportunities to improve service and operations
- Represent Beacon's values and reputation in every interaction

What We're Looking For
- Required Experience: Customer-facing experience in sales, service, retail, account management, or similar roles Experience working in industrial, recycling, manufacturing, warehouse, or outdoor environments Strong communication and relationship-building skills Basic computer and data entry proficiency
- Preferred Experience: Metal recycling or scrap industry experience Scale operation experience Material grading experience Experience purchasing materials or working directly with customers
