About the role

This position involves expertise in multi-platform enterprise information systems, with a focus on SCADA technologies. The role supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of major SCADA systems, ensuring adherence to corporate security policies and business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Research architecture standards based on industry best practices while adhering to corporate security policies and meeting business requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in technologies for multi-platform enterprise information systems.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of major SCADA systems, including hardware/software upgrades to meet business objectives and service levels.
  • Aid in researching, recommending, and coordinating acquisitions of technologies.
  • Proactively monitor solutions to reduce the occurrence and duration of outages.
  • Provide root cause analysis for incidents and troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple technologies.
  • Follow internal controls and policies to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of standardized code for communications between field remote terminal units (RTUs) and SCADA hosts.
  • Implement recommendations for complex infrastructure capacity planning.
  • Understand business partners' technical requirements and participate in technology initiatives supporting business priorities.
  • Proactively anticipate potential technical issues and suggest solutions before incidents occur.
  • Research viable alternatives to meet the technical requirements of business solutions.
  • Provide technical support for on-call personnel within your area of expertise.
  • Communicate team objectives, complex project tasks, and issues to business partners and vendors.
  • Share knowledge of internal/external practices and technical expertise with others.
  • Communicate status of action plans to management.
  • Prioritize work, evaluate results, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Adjust work schedule based on priorities to complete multiple assignments on time.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of college, preferably in a technology discipline.
  • Preferred: BA/BS degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent discipline, and SCADA Systems Administration or Network/Security certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SCADA technologies and industry best practices.
  • Technical proficiency in SCADA system and operating software administration.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of field SCADA hardware and ability to provide technical support.
  • Working knowledge of multiple complex SCADA field device protocols (e.g., BSAP, ROC).
  • Working knowledge of communications/systems networking.
  • Ability to leverage business applications for competitive advantage.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of domain administration, network security, and Windows platform best practices.
  • Applicant may possess a combination of equivalent education and work experience.

Working Conditions

  • Moderate travel (10-50%), including international trips requiring air travel and overnight stays.
  • Occasional physical requirements: reaching above shoulder-level, bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Occasional lifting of 25-50 pounds.
  • Typically works in an office environment but may also work in the field testing or implementing new applications/interfaces.
  • May work near or with moving mechanical parts.
  • Responsible for 24x7 systems and operations support.

Pay

Base salary range: $67,159.00 - $139,620.80 USD annually. Base salary varies depending on factors such as location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
