SCA Drafter/CAD Operator III

Location: Crane, IN (10% travel required). Full-time, day shift. Must be able to obtain Secret clearance; Interim Secret required.

About the role

SAIC is seeking a Drafter/CAD Operator to provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane code GXT. This role involves creating and updating Technical Data Packages using AutoCAD CAD Software. An architectural background is preferred, with knowledge of AutoCAD viewports, model/layout tabs, scaling, and layers. Strong communication skills and the ability to complete professional correspondence are essential.

Responsibilities

• Creates and modifies detailed drawings using AutoCAD CAD Software.
• Works closely with customers, engineers, technicians, and other CAD Operators to capture design requirements.
• Works independently and collaboratively to implement design and documentation changes.
• Performs moderate to complex tasks using tools such as calipers, gauges, tape measures, rulers, and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation of first article pieces.

Requirements

• AS or BS Degree in a related field; or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude, with understanding of currently accepted manufacturing processes and ISO procedures.
• Understanding of architectural layouts and procedures.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
• Able to complete tasks independently and as part of a team, with detailed or general instruction.

Skills

• Knowledge of ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000, associated Drawing Standards, Technical Data Packages, and Military Standards (desired).
