JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Completion of high school or its equivalent
- CCMA (NHA), CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) certification
Knowledge:
- Computer software such as Windows, Office, and Internet use
- Patient care technician practices and related patient care activities and clinic policies and procedures
- Basic non-technical skills
Experience:
- On-the-job training in patient care technician practices and related patient care activities
- On-the-job training in basic non-technical skills
Physical:
- Safety sensitive position
- Normal clinical environment
- Exposure to biological hazards
- Frequent exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors
- Close eye work
- Hearing within normal and soft tones
- Distinguish smells
- Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity
- Lifting up to 100 lbs
- Carrying up to 40 lbs
- Pushing/pulling up to 350 lbs
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping and reaching
- Occasional stress related to patient load
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing assigned patient care activities and assisting licensed nursing personnel.
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, licensed nurse, licensed physician, or designee.
Incumbents are subject to overtime and call-back as required by facility.
Attendance is an essential function of this job.
JOB REQUIREMENTS - PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN
Education:
- Licensed as a CNA through the Office of Long Term Care (current or previous)
- Completion of a state approved CNA training program
- Completion of a minimum of one semester of an RN/LPN program with a nursing skills checklist completed by the nursing instructor (for those currently enrolled in an approved nursing program)
Experience:
- On-the-job training in patient care technician practices and related patient care activities
- Two years experience
Physical:
- Safety sensitive position
- Normal clinicl environment
- Exposure to biological hazards
- Frequent exposure to unpleasant fumes and odors
- Close eye work
- Hearing within normal and soft tones
