SBA Business Development Officer

About the role

This position is for an SBA New Business Development Officer based in Denver, Colorado. The role involves 100% new business development of SBA loans, primarily 7a loans and brokered loans. The incumbent will work remotely but must be present in the office on Fridays for meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Prepare loan applications and gather necessary documentation
• Work closely with Credit Analysts and an SBA Closer to ensure successful loan processes
• Manage the loan approval process for SBA loans
• Ensure compliance with SBA regulations and bank policies

Requirements

• Proven track record in SBA loan origination
• Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Knowledge of SBA regulations and banking practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in SBA loan origination
• Preferred certifications such as SBA Certified Lender or SBA Preferred Lender

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
