Principal Objective

Customer driven role with a strong emphasis on providing exemplary service to internal and external clients. Focus on assisting BDO's with marketing, screening potential transactions, processing of applications, and communication with COI’s and customers. The goal is to enable high producing BDO's to be more efficient and able to increase their production. As an SBA BDA assistant, the goal will be for this individual to train under successful BDO’s to eventually become a full time BDO.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with existing successful BDO’s to increase their production.
  • Effectively utilize company’s CRM (Salesforce) system to thoroughly document all prospect relationships.
  • Schedule marketing activities and appointments for BDO’s.
  • Aid in screening new loan requests.
  • Spread financial statements and complete the BDO spreadsheet for Deal Talk discussions.
  • Participate in Deal Talk discussions with the BDO.
  • Upon prequalification of a transaction at Deal Talk, prepare the Term Sheet to be reviewed and issued by the BDO.
  • Upon customer acceptance and receipt of GFD deposit, enter the opportunity in Salesforce. Then prepare a Cirrus checklist to be forwarded to COI and customer to complete a Berkshire SBA loan application.
  • Follow up with COI’s and customers to collect documentation to complete the loan application.
  • Complete customer CIPs, and other preliminary documents as appropriate.
  • Perform site visits as necessary.
  • Attend and assist the BDO with appropriate industry and regional events for networking and new business opportunities.
  • Eventually the candidate will, if appropriate, directly call on viable leads and clients to discuss prospective opportunities.
  • Understand and effectively articulate our products, services and value proposition.
  • Originate and drive complete sales cycle with ability to: source, qualify, engage and close clients.
  • Possess a proven track record of working in partnership to achieve goals.
  • Network of financial professionals, including commercial bankers, asset based lenders, CPA’s, business consultants, business brokers and other local COI’s that can help identify new clients in need of our loan products.

Education & Experience

  • BS Degree in Business, Economics or Finance, or equivalent financial experience
  • 2+ years’ experience as a commercial lender and/or SBA lender
  • Stellar customer service experience to include process driven outbound calling

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong computer and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service, communication and presentation skills
  • Drive and proven ability to develop business
  • General knowledge of lending and deal structure
  • Capable of working independently and managing time effectively
  • Strong and confident presentation, negotiation and influencing skills

Benefits

Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.

Pay

$55,588 - $102,474

Schedule

Exempt/Officer Grade 10
