About the role

AHF Products is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Sawmill Sawyer to join our expanding team in Smoot, WV. This role involves safely sawing quality lumber at a high rate of production while contributing to a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely saw quality lumber at a high rate of production.
• Assist with saw changes and set up/adjust saw equipment as necessary.
• Perform routine general maintenance of the saw, carriage, and all associated equipment.
• Conduct any other work-related tasks as deemed necessary by mill management.

Requirements

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a safety-first attitude.
• Preference for hands-on work and being on your feet throughout the day.
• Punctuality, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (20–50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Must pass a background check, employment verification, and drug screening.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of previous experience in wood manufacturing, sawmill, planer mill, or forest products.
• Previous Sawyer experience preferred; lumber grading knowledge is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting of 20–50 lbs.
• Frequent walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and grasping.
• Frequent communication (talking, hearing, reading, writing).
• Ability to work in moderate noise levels (up to 83 decibels) and dusty environments.
• Must wear hearing protection and work in non-temperature-controlled conditions, exposed to weather.
