Saw & Stretcher Operator

Duties And Responsibilities

• Saw Operation
• Lay out, set up and operate metalworking machines
• Check products for correct shapes, dimensions, and other specifications
• Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs
• Input information into EPICS
• Verify NCRs and update rework/redtag line in EPICS
• Inspect cut lengths, critical dimensions and visually inspect material
• Maintain quality and good product
• Ensure proper weight is measured and recorded
• Communicate with press leads
• Escalate issues with maintenance team
• Conduct quality checks
• Complete Ascona scans
• Discuss issues with following shift
• Ensure materials are available for duration of the shift
• Proactively communicate with forklift drivers
• Conduct visual and dimensional quality checks
• Communicate with quality technicians and press leads
• Escalate issues immediately
• Batch at storage table
• Report issues before, during, and after stretching
• Follow stretching instructions
• Comply with quality policies

Requirements

• High school Diploma with some technical background and mechanical aptitude
• Extrusion experience is an asset
• 1-2 years' experience in an industrial environment
• Basic computer skills including MS Windows
• Understanding of measurements, tolerances, basic geometry, and numeracy comprehension
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs independently, and ability to lift up to 100lbs in collaboration with a team member
• Familiarity with extrusion software such as EPICS

Pay

The expected hourly rate for this position is $21.15. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs.
