Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Acts as a helper and back-up operator to the saw operator, performing duties such as cutting extrusions to required lengths and stacking them onto age carts.
- Cuts extrusions to their required length according to customer requirements and properly stacks them onto age carts.
- Records accurate counts of material cut and ensures all material is properly identified and dimensionally correct before transferring it to the tempering department.
- Makes measurements of the length of parts as they are placed on age carts, records these dimensions on the Daily Saw Report (QC-50), and monitors machine fluid levels.
- Ensures quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
- Maintains cleanliness of his/her own work area and participates in all established company health and safety training programs, complying with all policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Demands
- Frequent mental and visual attention with intermittent checking.
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly stands, walks, sits, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.
- Required to work in a hot environment.
Work Environment
- Near moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to airborne particles and chemicals.
- Noise level is usually very loud.
- Wears safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
