Savannah, GA - Hydrovac CDL Operator

Eighty percent or more of the work time is spent operating the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck performing non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables. Other work includes tank entry, cleaning and vacuuming, mobilization of equipment, truck maintenance, safety meetings, and occasional heavy lifting or working at heights.

Responsibilities

• CDL-A or CDL-B driver’s license with Tanker endorsement and no restrictions
• Properly document all company, federal, state, and customer paperwork as required by law or policy
• Communicate professionally with customer representatives to determine safe parking for equipment
• Lead and direct subordinate personnel to perform duties safely, timely, and efficiently
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment as needed
• Safety-mindedness is essential
• Travel out of town and out of state to work will be required
• Lift, push, pull 60+ pounds and operate heavy equipment
• Work flexible hours, including emergency calls
• Navigate field tool applications

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• OSHA10 safety card certification (company will pay for training if applicant does not hold certification, must complete within 5 days of hiring)
• Previous jetter and hydrovac, vacuum truck, underground utility, or similar field experience preferred
• Up-to-date DOT Medical card
• Strong knowledge of emergency processes and procedures
• Tanker endorsement required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Manual transmission (10 & 18 speed) experience required
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Must be at least 21 years of age
