About the role
Blue Origin is pioneering the future of space-based communications with TeraWave, a revolutionary satellite communications network designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 Tbps anywhere on Earth. This multi-orbit constellation will consist of optically interconnected satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) and medium Earth orbit (MEO), providing enterprise-grade connectivity for critical operations worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Design, development, build, integration and checkout of the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) Vehicle Test Bed (VTB)
- Define VTB requirements by working across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure VTB fidelity and interface definitions
- Own the hardware and software architecture of the VTB, including real time simulation infrastructure, emulators, and Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)
- Drive selection and integration of real-time simulation platforms (e.g., Speedgoat, National Instruments, etc.)
- Maintain configuration control of all VTB hardware, software, and models
- Plan and Execution HWIL test campaigns supporting program milestones
- Define VTB Test Procedures and Processes with a focus on automation

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in hardware-in-the-loop, system level test, and/or vehicle integration and test
- Demonstrated experience leading complex test campaigns with flight or flight-like hardware in a systems integration environment
- Hands-on experience with real-time simulation platforms and hardware interface design (serial, discrete, analog, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, Ethernet, CAN, or similar)
- Working knowledge of avionics architectures, flight software interfaces, and embedded systems
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate across disciplines in a fast-paced development environment
- Ability to work flexible hours during critical test campaigns
- Experience defining test requirements and procedures from system level specifications
- Familiarity with RF test equipment integration within a system level HWIL environment (signal generators, channel emulators, attenuators, RF switches, etc.)
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in systems integration
- Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, or other aerospace systems
- Familiarity with GN&C algorithms and ability to assess simulation model fidelity
- Experience with automated test frameworks and data analysis tools (Pythong, MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, etc.)
- Experience supporting vehicle-level FMEA, hazard analysis, or safety reviews
- Previous lead or management experience within a test organization
- Experience integrating GPS/GNSS simulators (e.g., Spirent, Orolia/Safran) into HWIL test beds

Pay
Compensation Range For CA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20 CO applicants is $133,500.00 - $186,898.95 WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20 Other Site Ranges May Differ
