SAS Viya Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SAS Viya Administrator to manage, administer, configure, and support the SAS Viya platform within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAS Viya administration, platform deployment, performance monitoring, security management, troubleshooting, and healthcare data environments.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain the SAS Viya platform across development, testing, and production environments.
• Manage SAS Viya services, applications, users, groups, roles, and authorization policies.
• Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and system resource utilization.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance of SAS Viya environments.
• Troubleshoot application, authentication, connectivity, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Manage identities, access controls, certificates, and integration with enterprise authentication systems.
• Support Kubernetes-based SAS Viya deployments and containerized application environments.
• Collaborate with healthcare analytics, data engineering, infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA where applicable.
• Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and incident reports.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with SAS Viya administration.
• Knowledge of SAS Viya architecture, platform services, and administration tools.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native environments.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
• Experience with user authentication, authorization, identity management, and access controls.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Experience with healthcare data platforms, clinical data, claims data, or healthcare analytics environments.
• Understanding of data privacy, security controls, and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with SAS Viya 3.5 and/or SAS Viya 4.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and DevOps practices.
• Experience supporting regulated enterprise environments.
• Relevant SAS, cloud, Kubernetes, or Linux certifications.
