SAP Variant Configurator Consultant

About the role

LABUR is partnering with a client, a leading medical device manufacturer, to find an experienced SAP Variant Configurator who will support and enhance their newly implemented SAP S/4HANA environment. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert for SAP Variant Configuration, partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and IT teams to maintain and optimize configurable products following a large-scale S/4HANA transformation. The role centers on post-go-live ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional business support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary functional expert for SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC and/or Advanced Variant Configuration)
• Design, maintain, and enhance configurable product models, characteristics, classes, dependencies, super BOMs, and routings
• Drive post-go-live stabilization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the SAP S/4HANA environment
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to translate business requirements into scalable SAP configuration solutions
• Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and complex product configuration requirements
• Analyze and resolve configuration-related production, order management, and master data issues
• Lead requirements gathering, solution design, testing, documentation, and end-user support
• Ensure configuration processes align with quality and regulatory requirements within a medical device manufacturing environment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SAP Variant Configuration experience, including hands-on expertise with LO-VC and/or Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC)
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, including support of a recent implementation or post-go-live environment
• Deep knowledge of characteristics, classes, object dependencies, configuration profiles, super BOMs, super routings, and material master/product data management
• Experience supporting configurable products in a manufacturing environment with working knowledge of SAP SD, PP, MM, and related modules
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Medical device, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred
• SAP certification and experience with large-scale global SAP transformations are a plus

Pay

$75-$80/hour - Dependent on fit/experience
