About the role

B&A is seeking a SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central – Senior Functional Consultant to support a federal government client operating within a classified environment. This role is responsible for the configuration, optimization, and sustainment of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) to support core HR business processes across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central modules including organizational management, position management, and employee data management.
  • Analyze and translate federal HR business requirements into functional design specifications and system configuration decisions.
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders, business process owners, and technical teams to deliver end-to-end Employee Central solutions aligned with agency policies and workflows.
  • Manage and support system integration touchpoints between Employee Central and downstream SAP modules (e.g., EC Payroll, Benefits, Time Management).
  • Conduct configuration workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and user acceptance testing (UAT) with federal client personnel.
  • Develop and maintain functional design documents, configuration workbooks, test scripts, and training materials.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on SAP SuccessFactors EC best practices, advising on system enhancements and release updates.
  • Partner with change management and training teams to support user adoption and knowledge transfer across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal HR regulations, data privacy requirements, and security protocols applicable to the classified operating environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central configuration and implementation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting federal government clients or operating within regulated/classified environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central including business rules, workflows, data models, and MDF (Metadata Framework) objects.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Human Resources Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Skills

  • Deep functional knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central including Position Management, Organization Management, Time Off, and Employee Profile.
  • Experience configuring business rules, workflows, event reasons, and MDF objects within the SuccessFactors platform.
  • Strong understanding of HR master data concepts and their application within an SAP HCM/SuccessFactors environment.
  • Ability to gather, document, and validate business requirements from federal HR stakeholders and translate them into system design.
  • Experience managing system integration between Employee Central and third-party or downstream SAP applications.
  • Proficiency in developing functional specifications, configuration workbooks, test scripts, and end-user training materials.
  • Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors release management and the ability to assess impacts of bi-annual updates on existing configurations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex functional concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working within federal or highly regulated IT environments with adherence to strict security and compliance protocols.

Desired Skills

  • SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central or equivalent SAP certification.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll integration and cross-module functional design.
  • Familiarity with SAP Integration Center or SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) integration tooling.
  • Knowledge of federal HR regulations including OPM guidelines, FLSA, and agency-specific HR policy frameworks.
  • Experience supporting Agile or SAFe delivery methodologies within federal IT programs.
  • Prior experience on DOE, DOD, or other federal agency SAP implementations.
