About the Role
The SAP MDG Finance Functional Consultant designs, configures, and supports SAP Master Data Governance (MDG-F) solutions for Finance master data objects, ensuring data governance, quality, compliance, and harmonization across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and integrated systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and support SAP MDG-F for Finance master data objects: Chart of Accounts, GL Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and Company Codes.
- Configure MDG data models, change request types, workflows, derivations, and validations for Finance objects.
- Implement and manage rule-based workflows using BRF+.
- Define and enforce Finance data governance policies, standards, and approval processes.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across finance domains.
- Analyze and resolve MDG workflow errors, validation issues, and replication failures.
- Configure and support data replication from MDG to SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP ECC, Central Finance (CFIN), and non-SAP systems using DRF, IDoc, SOA services, and CPI/PI/PO.
- Support reconciliation and error handling using AIF (if applicable).
- Conduct finance master data workshops with Finance, Controlling, and Audit stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into functional design documents (FSDs).
- Collaborate with ABAP, MDG Technical, Basis, Security, and Data Migration teams.
- Support SIT, UAT, cutover, and go-live activities.
- Prepare test scripts, training materials, and user documentation.
- Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years of SAP experience with strong hands-on expertise in SAP MDG Finance.
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance and ECC FI/CO.
- Strong knowledge of Finance master data structures, SAP MDG architecture, BRF+, Workflow, and DRF.
- At least 2 end-to-end SAP MDG implementations (Greenfield) and support experience.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles.
- Experience with SAP Central Finance (CFIN).
- Exposure to S/4HANA migration or ECC → S/4HANA programs.
- Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and SOX compliance (client-dependent).
- SAP MDG or S/4HANA Finance certification (preferred).

Qualifications
Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent.
Pay
Base salary range: $160,000 to $175,000 per annum.
