About the role
Golden Pet Manufacturing is at the forefront of changing the future of pet food by creating nutritionally-dense, thoughtfully-sourced, and practical solutions for pet parents. This night-shift Sanitor position is based in Seward, NE.
Responsibilities
- Work safely, complying with all safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures; proactively identify and report potential safety hazards for correction.
- Perform the 7 steps of sanitation consistently, effectively, and efficiently, including manual cleaning of plant processing equipment, tools, containers, and facilities; disassemble and assemble processing equipment.
- Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
- Remove product from equipment, tools, and containers using a water hose and industrial cleaners/sanitizers.
- Promote a high-quality team environment through effective teamwork and self-management with a positive attitude.
- Prioritize work daily by identifying pressing issues through communication with the direct team lead/supervisor and team members, knowing shift production plans, and maintaining area awareness.
- Understand microbiological and pest control programs as they pertain to sanitation in the food manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with all site teams on sanitation projects.
- Complete assigned training materials on time.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit, and walk extensively throughout a 10–12-hour shift.
- Willingness to work in a cooled sanitary environment (45°F or below) frequently indoors.
- Ability to work around loud production equipment and chemical hazards (abrasive chemicals).
- Awareness of slip, trip, and fall hazards due to water, chemicals, and product on floors.
Preferred Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older.
- Willing and able to work varying shifts and schedules.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong planning skills to organize work daily, work independently, and be a self-starter.
- Ability to work with a team and interact effectively with other departments.
- 1 year of experience cleaning/sanitizing equipment in a food manufacturing environment.
