About the Role
Clean and maintain assigned areas, including control of all parts such as gaskets and replacement of broken or missing components. Assist in setting up machinery in the assigned department or other production lines. Responsible for mixing cleaning solutions and other chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Use chemicals to clean and sanitize all assigned machinery and areas.
- Tear down machinery at the beginning of the cleanup shift.
- Assist in setting up machinery before production starts in the morning.
- Perform duties assigned by supervisors, area leaders, and the Sanitation Manager.
- Follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
- Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
- Basic understanding of machinery tear down and setup.
- Cleaning (parts) experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills.
- Poultry experience (preferred but not required).
- Basic understanding of chemicals.
Safety Requirements
- Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45°F / 4°C).
- Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
- Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO₂, and moving production equipment.
- Handle a 900 PSI water hose continuously.
- Lift 10-50 lbs, including moving, lifting, and pushing machinery.
- Climb up and down ladders daily.
- Stoop and reach overhead (bending & twisting).
