What You’ll Do
- Clean assigned areas across the property, including common areas, workspaces, restrooms, supply rooms, and other site areas as assigned
- Operate cleaning equipment such as steam cleaners, floor polishers, and other janitorial tools safely and according to instructions
- Use cleaning chemicals and supplies safely, following product instructions and site safety requirements
- Collect, sort, and dispose of garbage, waste, and recycling in accordance with site waste removal and recycling procedures
- Stock, organize, and maintain supply rooms to ensure cleaning materials and related supplies are available
- Complete minor facility maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and supporting basic upkeep as needed; including sweeping, dusting, and shoveling of material run off
- Perform and document routine inspection, cleaning, and maintenance activities
- Identify and report pest concerns, leaks, broken equipment, safety hazards, or other facility issues to a supervisor or manager
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently after training
- Patient, flexible, and willing to support changing facility priorities
- Ability to recognize and report health, safety, pest, maintenance, or equipment concerns promptly
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Custodian, Janitor, Cleaner, Groundskeeper, Sanitation Worker, or Facilities Maintenance Assistant
- Experience using floor care equipment, steam cleaners, polishers, or other industrial/commercial cleaning tools
- Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial facility environment
- Basic maintenance experience, including minor repairs, general upkeep, or supply room organization
Work Environment Requirements
- Extended periods of shoveling, sweeping, walking, and standing
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, and manual cleaning activities
- Repetitive physical tasks performed throughout the workday
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Operating cleaning and sanitation equipment safely
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, including heat and cold
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safety procedures
