Sanitation Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment and processing facilities.
  • Prevent cross contamination of product, work-in-progress, food contact surfaces and food contact packaging during sanitation procedures.
  • Follow all company Sanitation SOPs (SSOP) for cleaning equipment and facility.
  • Perform pre-inspection of clean equipment before requesting supervisor approval.
  • Complete all required sanitation and SQF documentation.
  • Washes and maintains cleaning carts and tools.
  • Maintains all sanitation related equipment including but not limited to automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, foamers, cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the sanitation supervisor.

Quality Assurance

  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
  • Adhere to all company GMPs and Safety policies.

Health & Safety

  • Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers.
  • Work safely with the chemicals used in the cleaning process and ensure all chemicals are used at proper concentrations following chemical handling SSOP.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing cleaning tasks.

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Sanitation experience preferred.
  • Must be able to follow instructions in English.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Self-directed.
  • Time management control.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Follows all GMPs, Food Safety, SSOPs per assignments.
  • Must be able to use step ladder/ladder.

Other Skills and Physical Demands

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting in a safe manner.
  • Able to interact professionally with honesty and respect towards Management, coworkers.
  • Required to work 3rd shift, though hours may change due to demand, including weekends, or holidays.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Schedule and Pay

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
