Sanitation Technician
Role Summary
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and food-safe environment throughout the BB Nash facility. This role supports production operations by cleaning and sanitizing equipment, food-contact surfaces, production areas, warehouses, and common spaces in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Shift Details
This is an off-shift role supporting production outside of standard daytime operations. Schedules will fall within evening and/or overnight hours. Final shift structure will be determined based on business needs, with the goal of establishing a consistent and predictable schedule.
Core Responsibilities
Equipment & Facility Sanitation: Maintain a clean and food-safe environment.
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, food-contact surfaces, and production areas
- Clean floors, walls, drains, warehouses, and employee common areas
- Remove waste and maintain a clean, organized facility
- Properly clean, store, and maintain sanitation tools and equipment
Food Safety & Compliance: Support food safety and audit readiness.
- Follow GMP, food safety, allergen control, and sanitation requirements
- Safely use and handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies
- Complete sanitation records and cleaning documentation accurately
- Support sanitation verification activities and audit readiness efforts
- Report food safety, quality, maintenance, or facility concerns
Production & Operational Support: Help keep operations running smoothly.
- Assist with line changeovers and cleaning between production runs
- Maintain sanitation supplies and organized storage areas
- Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
Safety: Promote a safe workplace.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Wear required PPE and use sanitation equipment safely
- Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety training
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous sanitation, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred
Ability to read and follow written procedures and work instructions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of GMPs, sanitation practices, or food safety programs is a plus

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely
Ability to bend, reach, kneel, climb stairs, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
Ability to work in wet, humid, hot, cold, and refrigerated environments
Movement between production, warehouse, office, and employee common areas as needed
Adherence to food safety policies, including restrictions on jewelry, artificial nails, and similar items in production areas
Smoke-free campus; no smoking permitted on company property
Work Environment
Food manufacturing and warehouse environment with strict adherence to GMP and food safety standards
PPE required when entering production areas (hair nets, beard nets if applicable, gloves, etc.)
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, sanitation equipment, production equipment, forklifts, and noise
Work may involve varying temperatures, including refrigerated, wet, humid, hot, and cold environments
Adherence to food safety policies, including restrictions on jewelry, artificial nails, and similar items in production areas
Smoke-free campus; no smoking permitted on company property
