About the role

The Sanitation Technician at Jackson's Food Company ensures the effective filtration and sanitation of equipment and the facility, adhering to established food manufacturing regulations and government sanitation requirements. The role involves performing fryer and centrifuge cleaning, maintaining overall cleanliness in the fryer rooms, and using various cleaning equipment. The technician follows safety protocols, reports defective equipment, and complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Active participation in safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures equipment and facility are effectively sanitized in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations and government sanitation requirements.
  • Performs fryer cleaning as prescribed by the Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Runs the filtration process for both Avocado Oil and Sunflower Oil.
  • Maintains general housekeeping in the fryer room and filtration area.
  • Utilizes powered cleaning equipment, including powered lifts, scissors lifts, power washers, foam applicators, steamers, automatic compactors, motors, and various non-mechanized equipment.
  • Follows instructions for safe lifting and carrying of objects of various sizes, shapes, and weights.
  • Identifies and reports defective equipment; reports all job-related injuries to management.
  • Follows all applicable GMPs for the assigned area.
  • Participates in safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months’ experience and/or training in Quality or Sanitation within food/beverage or dietary supplements.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Schedule

  • 1st shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm
  • 2nd shift: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
  • 3rd shift: 10:00pm – 6:00am
