About the role
Responsible for sanitizing equipment, production tools and the facility environment in both the Apple and Formulated Plants to ensure best food production safety practices.
Essential Functions
- Wears and maintains proper personal protection equipment while performing sanitation duties.
- Performs sanitation of production equipment and tools following strict standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for sanitation of the production environment.
- Responsible for sanitation of the exterior environment.
- Completes sanitation checklists and other records.
- Performs Master Sanitation Schedule tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Working Conditions/Physical Factors
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.
- Worker may be exposed to hazards in the work place such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical current.
- Must be able to work in environment containing allergens (nuts, milk, wheat, etc.).
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Frequently required to use hands and fingers.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to taste and smell.
- Frequently required to lift/push/pull/carry weight up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
