Sanitation Technician (2nd Shift)

About the Role

A key position focused on maintaining rigorous sanitation standards within GNC's facilities. The selected candidate will receive thorough training in Standard Sanitation Operational Procedure (SSOP) and play a critical role in ensuring food safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear direction in Wash Down Rooms.
  • Identify equipment and electrical components that need to be covered during cleaning.
  • Use and provide proper color-coded tools for sanitation tasks.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to authorized personnel.
  • Perform detailed cleaning of equipment, including disassembly in food contact areas to prevent mold and bacterial buildup.
  • Apply correct chemical dilution ratios; training in chemical safety will be provided.
  • Maintain documentation, including knowledge of the Master Sanitation Schedule and providing signatures to verify task completion.
  • Ensure all sanitation materials, tools, and chemicals are properly stored or disposed of after use.
  • Report to work on time and work overtime or weekends as necessary.
  • Cover for other Sanitation Technicians in their absence.
  • Perform regular sanitation and custodial duties as assigned by the Sanitation Department Lead.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately log and record sanitation activities.
  • Janitorial and sanitation experience required.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and email) are a plus.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Standing on a concrete floor for extended periods.
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to work weekends during peak season and mandatory overtime as needed.
