Sanitation Technician - 1st shift

Essential Functions

• Responsible for effective sanitation of the various plant equipment, tools, and departments.
• Follow equipment cleaning instructions as listed in the Sanitation Procedures Manual.
• Work in a fast-paced environment.
• Become familiar with cleaning chemicals by name, function, and usage rate and become chemical certified.
• Provide timely notification to Maintenance, Supervisor and/or Lead of equipment problems.
• Notify Supervisor and/or Lead of actual or potential problems.
• Follow verbal instructions from Supervisor and/or Lead.
• Be detail oriented and work independently.
• Comply with GMP's, proper sanitation, and housekeeping in area.
• Use required safety equipment and comply with proper safety procedures including wearing proper protective clothing, safety toe boots and safety goggles at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management or volunteered for.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience operating a fork lift.
• Experience using a variety of equipment including a power washer.
• Previous sanitation experience.

Competencies

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance procedures, and a variety of instructions, diagrams or schedules.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial truck.
• Frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
• Noise level is usually loud.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands or fingers to handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to walk.
• Infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.
