Essential Functions
- Responsible for effective sanitation of the various plant equipment, tools, and departments.
- Follow equipment cleaning instructions as listed in the Sanitation Procedures Manual.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Become familiar with cleaning chemicals by name, function, and usage rate and become chemical certified.
- Provide timely notification to Maintenance, Supervisor and/or Lead of equipment problems.
- Notify Supervisor and/or Lead of actual or potential problems.
- Follow verbal instructions from Supervisor and/or Lead.
- Be detail oriented and work independently.
- Comply with GMP's, proper sanitation, and housekeeping in area.
- Use required safety equipment and comply with proper safety procedures including wearing proper protective clothing, safety toe boots and safety goggles at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management or volunteered for.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating a fork lift.
- Experience using a variety of equipment including a power washer.
- Previous sanitation experience.
Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance procedures, and a variety of instructions, diagrams or schedules.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial truck.
- Frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
- Noise level is usually loud.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands or fingers to handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to walk.
- Infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.
