Sanitation Manager

Responsibilities
- Confer with multiple production departments to schedule sanitizing and cleaning assignments.
- Respond to reports of sanitation problems and USDA and FDA issues, and monitor sanitation performance as needed to verify guidelines and procedures, costing specifications, and system data.
- Manage the effective utilization of employees’ skills, development, quality, housekeeping, safety, utilization of required PPE, policy administration, employee relations, scheduling, cost control, and coordination of all sanitation activities with multiple crews.
- Prepare and compile required company and government reports within required deadlines and retain as required for production and food safety audits required in food manufacturing.
- Investigate ways to reduce waste, downtime, and improve equipment and employee utilization; present proposals to Manager for review and approval.
- Manage, train, and develop subordinates.
- The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, face mask, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves, and safety shoes or rubber boots.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 5+ years of related experience in sanitation and/or full cycle cleaning, ideally in a manufacturing setting, with 2+ years leading a team of sanitation staff.
- Food manufacturing experience and solid working knowledge of SSOP, USDA, FDA, HACCP, and GMP.
- Understanding and ability to comply with company and federal regulations and procedures.
- Basic skills in the generation of data from electronic general ledger systems such as SAP.
- Good mechanical aptitude within a high-volume manufacturing setting.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $125,000 annually with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The pay range represents numerous factors considered in hiring decisions, including but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, and geography. Starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
