Responsibilities
- Assures all Live Haul units are washed and disinfected based on current bio-security procedures and within the scheduled turnaround times.
- Covers for others in scheduling, washing of truck and trailers.
- Coordinates scheduling changes with facilities.
- Maintains properly trained personnel, adequate equipment and facilities.
- Enforce compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety, rules, and governmental regulations.
- Understand and comply with the Injury Prevention System and all safety requirements of the job.
- Ensures trailer cleanliness through training, inspection, and resolution of problems.
- Ensures biosecurity with cross traffic with live haul.
- Coordinates scheduling with transportation supervisor.
Qualifications
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Experience in the swine industry preferred.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Familiarity with computer use and information systems.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to develop and implement work plans that are completed in a timely fashion.
- Ability to follow bio-security procedures.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and participate in the injury prevention system.
- Ability to read and write English.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to stoop, bend, and climb.
- Ability to use power washer and clean/ sanitize trucks.
- Tolerance for blood, animal dander, manure, dust and odors.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Minimum of 40 hours per week required.
- Ability to work under stress.
- Ability to tolerate hot and noisy conditions.
