Sanitation Lead - Truck Wash

Responsibilities

• Assures all Live Haul units are washed and disinfected based on current bio-security procedures and within the scheduled turnaround times.
• Covers for others in scheduling, washing of truck and trailers.
• Coordinates scheduling changes with facilities.
• Maintains properly trained personnel, adequate equipment and facilities.
• Enforce compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety, rules, and governmental regulations.
• Understand and comply with the Injury Prevention System and all safety requirements of the job.
• Ensures trailer cleanliness through training, inspection, and resolution of problems.
• Ensures biosecurity with cross traffic with live haul.
• Coordinates scheduling with transportation supervisor.

Qualifications

• Current valid driver’s license.
• Experience in the swine industry preferred.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Familiarity with computer use and information systems.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to develop and implement work plans that are completed in a timely fashion.
• Ability to follow bio-security procedures.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and participate in the injury prevention system.
• Ability to read and write English.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Ability to stoop, bend, and climb.
• Ability to use power washer and clean/ sanitize trucks.
• Tolerance for blood, animal dander, manure, dust and odors.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
• Minimum of 40 hours per week required.
• Ability to work under stress.
• Ability to tolerate hot and noisy conditions.
