Sanitation I (Bucket Wash)

Position Summary

This role will disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble, and test‑run all elements of the line seven scaling and feeding system prior to the first shift start up.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Wash meat buckets, sticks, automatic linking systems, pallets, miscellaneous small parts daily.
• Operate garbage and cardboard compactors.
• Keep Formulation area adequately supplied with clean buckets.
• Keep Stuffing area adequately supplied with clean sticks.
• Occasionally check formulation and compactor areas to prevent accumulation of garbage and cardboard.
• Wash plastic barrels, sweep outside areas, minor welfare upkeep is all done weekly.
• Take responsibility in your work to produce a safe and quality food product. Report all food safety and quality related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the QA department to initiate action.
• No supervisory responsibility.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Other Experience and Qualifications

• Required education is less than a high school diploma; no prior experience or training necessary; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Ability to read English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
• Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Must be able to stand/walk for 8‑9 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to bend, twist, stoop and squat, reach above shoulders as needed for day‑to‑day responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
• Must have good hand and eye coordination.
• Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
• Must be able to work overtime during peak production periods.
