Sanitation I employees disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble, and test-run all elements of the line seven scaling and feeding system prior to first-shift start-up.
Responsibilities
- Disassembly of the Triangle system
- Cleaning of the Triangle scale system
- Reassembly of the Triangle system
- Cleaning of the “steep” conveyor
- Cleaning of the Urschel slicer
- Cleaning of the “Z” conveyor
- Other duties as assigned on nights when the Triangle system does not require cleaning
- Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product; report all food safety and quality problems to your supervisor, manager, or the QA department
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED; 1–3 months related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- SSOP certification (provided)
- Qualified to use a scissor lift (training provided)
- Qualified to use sanitation chemicals (training provided)
- Qualified to operate the Triangle system (clean-out, set-up, and test-run; training provided)
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences; read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; communicate effectively in one-on-one or small-group settings
- Perform mathematical operations using units of weight, volume, distance, and American currency
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram formats
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, taste, or smell
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
- Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision; ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet, humid, refrigerated, or freezer conditions typical of a food-processing facility
- Very loud noise level; regular exposure to extreme cold and vibration
Company provides: rubber gloves, metal gloves, cooler coats, sleeve protectors, aprons, bump cap, hair net, beard net, and ear plugs.
