About the role
This position is based in Seabrook, New Jersey and reports to the Sanitation Supervisor. The Sanitization Technician I performs sanitation operations and conducts food safety and quality procedures to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. Practices adhere to OSHA, FDA, EPA, SQF, and GMP standards.
Starting hourly rate: $21.67/hr. Shift differentials: $0.35/hr for 2nd shift, $0.45/hr for 3rd shift. Medical insurance is offered through Local Union 152.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks following the Master Cleaning Schedule
- Follow all sanitation safety and food safety guidelines
- Support Production CIPs (Clean-In-Place)
- Complete all associated documents related to tasks per facility requirements
- Work with chemicals to complete cleaning tasks
- Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) equipment and cleaning equipment
- Taste test products as needed (up to a couple of ounces per test)
Requirements
- Must successfully complete and maintain the Lassonde Pappas Forklift Certification
- Ability to read and write
- Work safely following all PPE requirements
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
This role requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting with the following demands:
- Frequent: Talking, hearing, standing, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, operating machinery/equipment, and using hands and fingers. Exposure to wet/humid conditions and seasonal temperature fluctuations.
- Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above/at shoulder height, wearing a dust mask, performing confined entry using LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
- Vision: Close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision (with or without correction). Must visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment with high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
- Hearing: Normal audio range (with or without correction). Exposure to noise from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
