About the Role
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the sanitation worker is responsible for sanitizing and cleaning the production facility, cheese racks, and production equipment according to company procedures. This position requires a basic understanding of equipment functions, chemical application awareness, and the ability to perform basic equipment breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Sanitize and clean areas of the production facility.
- Perform daily washing of cheese racks.
- Lift up to 40+ pounds, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Twist, squat, and reach above shoulder level as required.
- Maintain all necessary equipment and tools.
- Start and stop machinery to ensure proper cleaning per GMP standards.
- Work quickly and accurately while maintaining concentration over long periods.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with rules, regulations, and GMP guidelines.
- Apply sound knowledge of safety measures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Previous manufacturing and/or food production experience is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to understand and follow guidelines and work procedures (including health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation).
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage workload.
