Sanitation Associate

About the role

This role involves unloading products from trucks, breaking down pallets, stacking products, assisting with sanitation, and fueling/trucking maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Unload products from trucks; breakdown pallets and stack products on pallets.
• Move or handle dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork, and tobacco products as per order forms.
• Assist with sanitation duties such as cleaning the warehouse, emptying garbage, etc.
• Fuel, wash, and clean semi-trucks/trailers based on assigned distribution center.
• Check product for damage, verify quantities, and complete selection orders.
• Lift products weighing between 30-60 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by disposing of waste and cleaning spills.
• Operate power industrial equipment such as pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
• Report damaged or out-of-stock products to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year warehouse experience preferred.
• Prior experience operating power industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks, long-tongued electric pallet jacks, and high-extender high lifts preferred.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work weekends, holidays, day and evening hours, and overtime as assigned.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Safety training and ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Knowledge of multi-temperature environments.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. One year warehouse experience preferred. Prior experience operating power industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks, long-tongued electric pallet jacks, and high-extender high lifts preferred. Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Must work weekends, holidays, day and evening hours, and overtime as assigned. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse operation. Must be able to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and other material handling/industrial equipment. Must follow safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies and practices. Must be able to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned (e.g., freezer, coolers, dry conditions).

Skills

Physical strength to lift up to 75 lbs. frequently and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of power industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks, long-tongued electric pallet jacks, and high-extender high lifts. Familiarity with basic warehouse operations and safety protocols.

8 - 10-hour shifts, Sunday - Thursday, 10:00am - 6:30pm.
