San Antonio 43 (Basse/Broadway) True TX BBQ - Food Production Cook - Part time

Responsibilities

• Prep ingredients by cutting, slicing, dicing, chopping according to recipe specifications and SOPs
• Prepackage condiments (sauces, dressings) for prepared food items
• Complete assigned tasks at designated work station
• Assist in multiple cooking venues and technical areas as needed
• Support catering orders when required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Food Safety / Sanitation

• Comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
• Maintain proper temperature integrity of all ingredients, products, and equipment
• Keep food preparation areas clean and sanitary
• Properly handle, operate, and maintain equipment
• Work as a team member to ensure a safe, clean, and productive operation

Customer Service

• Provide internal customer service
• Assist guests as needed

Qualifications & Key Requirements

• Age 18 or older
• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Culinary knowledge and understanding of nutritional values and ingredients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to execute high-volume production
• Availability to accommodate rotating shifts including frequent evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation and equipment
• Culinary certification or equivalent training/work experience

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Function in a fast-paced, retail environment
• Work extended hours and/or rotating schedules
• Safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
• Constantly stand, reach at waist, grasp
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic materials
• Occasionally walk, reach at overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements, shoulder circumduction
• Occasionally exposed to wet, cold, heat, ambient temperatures, and loud noise
• Ability to lift 55 lbs and manage in excess of 80 lbs with a team lift
