Sample Registration Technician

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Sample Registration Technician to join our laboratory team. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to microbiology laboratory work over time.

About the role

The ideal candidate has a science-related degree or some laboratory experience, is comfortable with technology and data entry, and brings a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and register incoming laboratory samples.
• Enter sample information accurately into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Verify sample data and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain organized records and support quality control requirements.
• Prepare and manage samples for laboratory testing.
• Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
• Keep workstations, glassware, and sample areas clean and organized.
• Communicate effectively with team members to maintain workflow and sample turnaround times.
• Assist with additional laboratory support tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or another scientific field OR relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with computers and learning new software systems.
• Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous laboratory, sample receiving, or shipping/receiving experience.
• Experience with data entry or LIMS software.

Work Environment

• Monday–Friday schedule, with start times between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
